Beachin Surf began its journey with the Harris brothers surfing pristine uncrowded Norah Head and its many Central coast breaks. The seventies were a time when surfing was dominated by Aussies and adventure and Beachin Surf was born of this. We challenged the top guys and often enough won. From huge Bells to Hawaii and back to Bali Aussie surfing was established as the coolest counter culture and we were in the thick of it.
Our first business was a shack on the side of the Norah Head Hamburger and pinball place at Norah Head. Norah Head Surf was born in 1977 then survived 1978 but only really in summer. The Honey Surf Bus delivered wax and legropes, clothing and wetsuits were very basic; and we all went surfing whenever a rep showed up. We were the first Rip Curl Surf Shop account on the Central Coast.Quiksilver and Billabong followed shortly thereafter. In 1980 we got a little more serious wtih a proper shop at Budgewoi and this lasted four years and traded all year. Across the road from the Pub and up the road to the early morning Budgewoi beach breaks before work.
In Nov 1984 the first real assault in a real surf shop came with our move to East Toukley with a largish range of Boards Wetsuits Surf accessories and Clothing in an actual shopping area. Today we have the Mega store of Beachin Surf with Boardland out the back. We are still evolving in this massive format and are always keen to help people go surfing. ABN: 39 794 253 304
