Great White Twin – Power, Speed & Precision from Nature-Inspired Design
Co-designed by Kelly Slater and Bali-based shaper Mike Woo, the Great White Twin is a high-performance groveler with bite. Inspired by the powerful outline of the great white shark, this board merges hybrid paddle power with shortboard reactivity — and delivers twin-fin speed with thruster-like control.
Built in I-Bolic Technology with Volcanic Lamination, the Great White Twin thrives in conditions where most fish fall short. It creates speed in soft waves, controls it in punchy surf, and turns tight arcs in the pocket with precision. Volume is cleverly packed in the center for easy paddling, while the fine-tuned rails offer instant response under pressure. An elevated tail rocker makes it surprisingly sharp on your backhand — a rarity in twin fin performance.
Why It Works:
-
Hybrid Paddle Power: Hidden center volume for wave-catching ease
-
Twin Fin Speed, Thruster Control: The best of both feel worlds
-
Sharp Backhand Performance: Tail rocker brings rare twin-fin precision
-
Refined Rails: Instant feedback and quick release in critical turns
-
Built for All Conditions: Weak beachies to fast, punchy reef breaks
Recommended to ride at your usual performance volume or slightly higher.
The Story Behind the Shape:
During a trip to Bali in 2020, Kelly teamed up with shaper Mike Woo to bring a long-standing vision to life — a board inspired by the form and function of the great white shark. After sketching outlines directly from shark imagery and mapping surfboard templates into their silhouettes, the result was immediate magic. Kelly surfed the first prototype and called it perfect from the first ride.
