Softlite Koolite Softboard

If someone in the family is learning to surf, this is the board. The Koolite takes a classic mini mal outline and tweaks it specifically to make standing up as easy as humanly possible.

Key Features

• 100% waterproof moulded EPS core — Softlite's exclusive moulding gives a harder outer shell and consistent quality board to board.
• Double moulded stringer system — reinforced with fibreglass sheeting and epoxy resin for the right mix of flex and strength.
• 2026 single tab fin system — glassed in under the slick, so there are no visible deck screws. Thruster setup, fins included, and compatible with other single tab systems if you want to experiment.
• No screws on the deck — clean underfoot, nothing to stub a toe on, and a whole lot easier to wax.
• Carry handle — getting to the water shouldn't be the hard part.
• EPO bonding layer — between the core and the deck/slick. Prevents bubbles and delamination, absorbs impact, and keeps pressure dents down.

Details

Shape-wise the Koolite runs a slightly wider tail for stability, especially in the small stuff, plus extra width and thickness through the middle. More volume means it paddles fast, which means you catch more waves, which is the whole point when you're starting out. Construction is Softlite's traditional softboard build — EPS core with wood stringers, wrapped in a soft IXLPE deck and a rigid HD slick.

• 6'6 — 22" x 3 3/8", 62L. Beginners 40–50kg.
• 7'0 — 22" x 3 3/8", 67L. Beginners 50–65kg.
• 7'6 — 23 1/2" x 3 1/2", 79L. Beginners 65–80kg.
• 8'0 — 23" x 3 1/2", 80L. Beginners 80–95kg.
